Best Wishes from Tom Padula and the Insegna Team!

INSEGNA  has recently begun to contact your School with a view to provide information that is relevant to your Languages Curriculum. I did work with the Education Department of Victoria as an Italian, French and History teacher. I also had working experiences in Education as the first Italian Consultant for Victoria working for a few years in the Curriculum and Research Branch, as the Italian Coordinator across ten Centres of the Victorian School of Languages and then as Centre Supervisor in three Schools of the VSL, as Coordinator at Coburg High Evening School and Curriculum Officer at the Princes Hill Adult Evening School. My range of educational experiences in Teaching, Coordinating, Supervising and in many other roles provided me with a clear understanding of what is needed for a School to remain a successful Languages provider.

During the 1970s and 1980s, we moved as educators towards the application of multicultural and multilingual policies which reflected our own Australian Community. This was a basis for reaching out to the world and engaging with other nations with a greater commitment to their culture and language. This idea enriched Australia and propelled it into the Global arena prepared to at least accept diversity as a unifying philosophy for peace and tolerance between nations and in the world generally. Those ideals have remained a central focus of Languages Education in our schools. There is still much to be achieved since the world does not stop and we need to renew our commitments to languages and cultures in our more than ever globalised world.

At Insegna Booksellers, Publishers and Distributors, we are still committed to provide LOTE Teachers with the resources that they need in the classroom and for students outside of school hours in their own Family settings. We have developed a new website directed to Your School providing support and resources that your teachers, students, educators and parents can access.  We can provide resources in most languages and indeed we can help with the development of a rich and interesting Curriculum for each Language in your School. Parents can also come directly to our Bookshop on a Saturday to visit us or, even better, they can browse and order the books that are displayed online. Some books can only be supplied until stock is available. Difficulties of supply of imported books can be a problem. So when you see an interesting book that can support your LOTE Student’s learning, buy it. Other LOTE books are readily available, especially when arrangements have been made with us.

My future articles will cover various aspects of Language learning and teaching. So please continue to revisit these websites for this new content and regular content updates for Tom Padula Articles and Tom Padula Poetry and of course TomPadulaTV.com, our primary content channel, now with well over 850 video uploads, including many series programs broadcasted by C31 Melbourne during a decade long association with Community TV.

I hope that you have a good end of Term 3. This is the ideal time to increase your resources with what is left of your budget. Contact us if you need to come to our bookshop for a selection. We will be more than happy to assist you in your journey towards an ever better well resourced  Language Program.

Starting is simple! Just send an email to "Nella Padula" with your enquiry, book list or school order form and direct these to: insegna@bigpond.com
With my best wishes….
